Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Marko Sarstedt is a highly-cited researcher

17 Nov 2023

For the sixth time, Prof. Dr.Dr. h.c. Marko Sarstedt has been named Clarivate™'s highly-cited researcher.

Congratulations, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Marko Sarstedt as a highly-cited researcher! With this award, he proves how socially relevant research is at the LMU Munich School of Management.

Each year, Clarivate™ identifies the small fraction of the world's researchers and social scientists who have a significant and far-reaching impact in their fields of research. This select group contributes disproportionately to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and generating innovations for society that make the world healthier, more sustainable and safer.

"Among the various recognitions we receive, this is a very special one, because it underlines the relevance of our research - especially in the field of Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) - for many colleagues out there, not only in marketing, but also in computer science, engineering, psychology and various other scientific fields," says Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Marko Sarstedt

Each selected researcher has authored several highly cited papers that ranked in the top 1% of citations for their subject area(s) and publication year in the Web of Science over the last ten years. However, citation activity is not the only selection indicator. A preliminary list based on citation activity is then refined through qualitative analysis and expert judgment.

"When you find out that your own work has such a big impact, it's probably the best feedback a researcher can get," says Marko Sarstedt

The nations and institutions designated as "Highly Cited Researchers" in the 2023 analysis as well as the number of researchers in the individual subject areas and interdisciplinary categories can be viewed here.

"Many thanks to all fellow researchers for reading, citing, praising and criticizing our research! There is much more to come!"

We very much hope so and wish Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Marko Sarstedt continued success in his excellent research.
